Announcing: Winter’s Jest Returns
As the nights grow darker, an evil has risen once more..
As the weather grows colder, it plots as it has before.
Beware, dear Ghost Hunters, you shan’t know a moment’s rest.
Dare you provoke its cruel Winter’s Jest?
Greetings, Ghost Hunters.
As the weather grows colder, and the nights darker, Krampus returns and with him comes Winter’s Jest, Phasmophobia’s annual winter in-game event.
Like last year’s Winter’s Jest, Krampus’ wrath will be felt throughout the game and challenge Ghost Hunters. Your task, as a community, will be to successfully complete contracts and optional objectives as well as other goals such as locating Krampus’ jack-in-the-box items to earn in-game rewards. However, this year, something new awaits you on the doorstep of the event maps…
Lastly, the date! The festivities kick off across all platforms on December 16th, 2025 at 12PM GMT and will run until January 6th, 2026, also ending at 12PM GMT.

The Community Goals will unlock rewards for everyone as and when the goal is reached. These are once again a combination of both Community and Personal rewards, giving players the chance to work together while also earning progress towards their own personal goals. The rewards are:
Community Goal 1 - Toy Soldier ID Card & Badge set
Community Goal 2 - Winter’s Jest trophy unlock.
Note: If you unlocked the trophy last year, a new trophy will not be added to your cabinet. You’ll immediately start working towards it’s upgrades.
Personal Goal 1 - Animated Toy Soldier ID Card
Personal Goal 2 - Upgrade to the Winter’s Jest trophy. Can be repeated 3 times.
As well as offering these Community and Personal rewards, Winter’s Jest will play host to Double XP and Money from all investigations during the first week of the event, 16th December - 23rd December.
As you approach the location in an event map, you’ll encounter Krampus’ bag of gifts. With it, a list of Naughty or Nice people and their required gifts. Krampus has tasked you with finding the required items throughout the map and dropping them in to the bag. In return, you’ll be rewarded with Community Goal points as well as a gift of your own.
What awaits a Ghost Hunter who successfully completes Krampus’ list during an investigation? Well, that would be telling.
Winter’s Jest offers plenty for players to sink their teeth in to, and we can’t wait for you to uncover everything it has to offer. And keep an eye out on our social channels, as Krampus may be showing up in a few places this season…
